The foundation of hitting is the launch position.  Below are two photos that reference that launch position.  There are numerous ways to get to the launch position, but the position itself has remained consistent over decades.

This video from the PF Flyers Baseball Youtube channel utilizes some of the following recommended training aids.

  1. Personal Pitcher Pro   Use Discount Code proclass20 for 20% off through 10/31/25

It is not possible to over emphasize the benefits of the personal pitcher pro and mini wiffle balls for hitters and catchers. To hit indoors you only need about 10’ x 20’ in an area where they won’t break stuff when hitting the mini wiffle balls. For catching, you only need about 6’ x 20’. For hitting off the personal pitcher, I recommend the following hit sticks:

2. CamWood Bat and One Hand Trainer (I recommend 12U & below- youth model 1" longer than players' game bat / 13U & above- adult model same length as players' game bat)   Use Discount Code Flyers for 20% off

3. Blast Motion Sensor Use Discount Code pfflyers13brs for 27% off

Can be used for a bat speed drill using the heavy bag and in the cage to train hand speed, bat speed, rotational acceleration and attack angle.  (*But only train one of those metrics at a time)

4. Large Heavy Bag (70+ lbs)

We use Heavy Bags for specific drills to help develop hand/arm/core strength at contact.  If you were at the hitting camp you saw the demonstration I did in conjunction with the blast sensor to measure bat speed.  (*Note: Do not use two-piece or composite bats when hitting the Heavy bag)

5. Tanner Tee Base

I recommend using these tees with a heavy base.  Train low ball tee, the regular height tee, and the regular height tee with an extension for players over 6' 3".

6. PowerNet with BP Caddy and Heavy Balls
(*Note: Do not use two-piece or composite bats when hitting heavy balls)

7. Taterballs
Used for high velocity training off of the hack attack

8. Swax Balls

Ideal for younger players for reduced flight in hitting and learning to catch

9. Total Control Mini Balls

Great to use for hand/eye coordination training (indoor/outdoor)

10. Nerf Mini Balls

Great to use for hand/eye coordination training (indoor/outdoor)

11. WIN Reality SwingAI App
