Baseball has been a defining part of Chase’s life from an early age, growing up in Cincinnati and playing at Milford High School, where he was coached and mentored by his father, the school’s varsity head baseball coach. His talent led to being selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 4th round of the 1997 MLB Draft, before choosing to continue both his education and baseball career at Wake Forest University.

At Wake Forest, Chase became a three-year starter at shortstop, earned All-ACC recognition, and helped lead the team to two ACC championships while establishing himself as one of the conference’s top professional prospects. His collegiate success culminated in being selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 3rd round (83rd overall) of the 2000 MLB Draft. He went on to play professionally within the St. Louis Cardinals organization and later continued his professional baseball journey with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization, giving him the opportunity to pursue the game he loved at the highest level.

More importantly, baseball gave Chase lifelong lessons in discipline, teamwork, resilience, leadership, accountability, and caring for the people around him. Those experiences now shape the mentor and coach he strives to be. His philosophy is simple: develop the player, but never lose sight of the person. He believes in teaching young athletes how to prepare with purpose, compete with confidence, respond to adversity, respect the game, and hold themselves and their teammates accountable.

With a career built on the diamond and a professional career in orthopedic medical devices, Chase brings a unique perspective to developing the next generation of baseball players. His goal is to pass along not only the knowledge of the game, but the mindset, work ethic, character, and love for baseball that have defined his own journey.

Chase resides in Liberty Township with his wife Heather, and their two sons, Cade and Gunnar Voshell.
