PF Flyers 10U wins second tournament of 2026

PF Flyers 10U won the K Sports Blue Ash Wood Bat Challenge AA tournament over a rainy Memorial Day weekend.

The Flyers started tournament play with a 4-1 win, led by Finn Huggins.

Huggins went four innings, allowing only one hit and one run, striking out seven. Oakley Lakes came in out of the bullpen with two hitless, scoreless innings and five strikeouts. Shortstop Wyatt Cobb made several plays deep in the hole and up the middle.

The Flyers managed only three hits, but were able to push across four runs. Huggins was 2-for-2 with two runs scored.

The rain tightened the tournament schedule, moving things along to bracket play on Sunday.

In the semifinal game on Sunday, the Flyers fell behind 5-0 in the second inning. In the bottom of the third, they trailed 6-1. But they scored four runs to cut the deficit to 6-5.

An inning later, the Flyers trailed 7-5 when Holt Timmer hit a two-out, two-run single to tie the score at 7.

Cobb pitched the final three innings, allowing no hits and one earned run while striking out six. Hudson Bauman made a running catch deep in the right field corner to prevent a bases clearing double.

That all sent the Flyers to the bottom of the fifth and final inning tied 7-7.

Bauman hit a line drive single to left field for the walkoff 8-7 win.

In the championship game, the Flyers started with a five-run first inning and never looked back.

They finished with a 13-7 win. Huggins was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, two RBI and a triple. Julian Southard was 1-for-3 with a double and three RBI.

The Flyers are now 18-4-1 with two tournament championships.
