PF Flyers 12U shuts out competition in Wood Bat Classic

The PF Flyers 12U team won the Tournaments for a Cause Wood Bat Classic this weekend without allowing a single run.

The Flyers outscored the competition 65-0 in four games.

Flyers pitchers allowed only five hits in the tournament.

The Flyers began with an 11-0 win. Ryan Edwards was 3-for-3 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored. Colton Rash was 2-for-2 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored. Myles Brisben was 2-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Jax York from the Flyers 10U team pitched 2 2/3 innings, allowing two hits and striking out five.

The Flyers won the second game of pool play 28-0. Isaac Mahle was 4-for-4 with a whopping eight RBI. He had four runs scored and a double. Pierce Ewen was 3-for-3 with a triple, four RBI and three runs scored. The game featured a 24-run inning.

Ewen and Jude Chapman each threw a hitless inning. Ewen struck out the side in his inning.

In the first game of pool play, the Flyers started with a 17-run bottom of the first. That would be the only time the team would hit. Cade Voshell was 2-for-2 with a double, three RBI and two runs scored.

Ewen threw two shutout innings.

That sent the Flyers to the championship game, a 9-0 win.

Jackson Meinberg threw a one-hit, five-inning complete game shutout. He struck out five and didn’t walk a batter. Rash was 2-for-3 with two doubles, three RBI and a run scored.

The Flyers are now 4-0 on the fall.
