PF Flyers 9U wins tourney again
The PF Flyers 9U team stayed red hot.
The team won the Tournaments for a Cause Quest for the Best Tournament over the weekend to move to 8-0 on the season with two tournament wins.
The Flyers pitchers dominated on the mound, allowing only 10 runs in four games.
The Flyers won by run-rule in all four games.
The Flyers started the tournament with a 12-0 win. Jax York and Hunter Crispin each went two innings. York allowed the only hit. He struck out four and Crispin struck out five.
York was 2-for-2 at the plate with a triple and a run scored.
Steely Edwards had quite the game in the second game on Saturday. He started on the mound and went two shutout innings with five strikeouts. At the plate, he was 3-for-3 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored. He also stole six bases.
Crosby Harris was also 3-for-3. He had two doubles and three runs scored.
The Flyers cruised to a 15-5 win.
Edwards pitched the semifinal on Sunday. He allowed three hits, two earned runs and struck out eight in four innings to lead the Flyers to a 13-3 win.
Harris was 2-for-3 with a double and a triple, two runs scored and one RBI.
Bryce Kimberly was 2-for-2 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI.
The win sent the Flyers to the championship game where they immediately jumped out in front with a seven-run bottom of the first. The big blow was a two-run single by Brody Cable.
Eight Flyers had two hits in the game. Thomas O’Donnell was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBI.
Meanwhile, York shut the opposition down. He pitched a four-inning complete game on only 58 pitches. He allowed three hits and only two unearned runs. He struck out nine.
